The Forbidden Forest
NY: Harper & Row. (1978). Item #3383
Stated 1st edition; 4to. White pictorial boards, Illus. by author. The prologue says it all: "Wars, at best, are stupid struggles. They are easy to start, easier to keep going, but hard to stop. This is the story of the three heroes who stopped the Great World War." A serious subject accompanied by numerous colored drawings which include pictures of the heroes, a man called Spider Max, a bulldog, and a boxing kangaroo. Somehow, dedicating the book to "Jane Fonda," is du Bois' perfect touch. very good in chipped slightly soiled pictorial dust jacket.
